Restored for the first time in 1845 and renovated in the 1990s, it owes its name to a branch of the Penone family, who once owned mills where corn, chestnuts, and rye were ground—mills that have since disappeared. Today, a granite millstone remains beside the road just past Codera, and a place name—Prà Mulinàt—can be found near the beautiful stables of the Corte, shortly after the village.
It is divided into Mulinèe Alta and Mulinèe Bassa, both with two beds.
